I am casting Lyman 410032 .410 dia 202 gr. SWC and I am looking for some mild target loads. 700- 850 FPS. I would like to use Win. 231 and Win. WST. I will be using a 3"S&W 657 and a 4"S&W. 657. Any other powder& loads would be a great help.

I had a 3" 657 and used 6- 7 gr of 800x and the Lyman 410459 225 mv was about 800 -- unique about the same never tried any of the powders you mentioned--neat 6 gun-- this was back in the mid 80's

8.0 grains of Herco has shot VERY well for me in 3 different 41 Magnum revolvers using Lyman #410032. (My version falls out at 212 grains, FWIW). From 6"-6.5" barrels, they clock at about 900 FPS.

I use Universal Clays 7.5 g with a 210 SWC Get about 1000fps out of my 657 6 in. Also 8 g with unique Prefer Unversal Clays( cleaner burn)

That is the same bullet I cast for my .41. I use 6.2 to 6.5 of 231 and have been more than pleased with that load in my 4" 57. In fact, when I bought the gun several years ago, and that mould, I found I didn't need another mould or my other .41 (Blackhawk .41 Ruger) so I gave the Ruger to a friend.
Have a drawer full of .44 moulds but that 410032 is the only one I want or need for the .41.

I'll go along with Dew about the 231 load. Six grains is a very pleasant and accurate load.

I'll go along with the 6 gns of 231. It does good in my BH also.

mike venturino had a nic article on handloader on midrange 41 mag loads and the best came from five to six grains of 231 or titegroup using a 215 grain boolit. I am very happy with these loads
