This is common practice for those who cast their own, but how many out there measure their jacketed bullets? I recently got an order of Hornady .312 softpoints
for my Mosins and P14. When they arrived I just out of curiosity measured them.
They measured out at .3135 which surprised me as I was expecting them to be
.3115-.312. Any one interested can find them at Wideners under Hornady .312
SP interlocks Lot number#2050946.

Only did it once with a 243 which wouldnt shoot. That's not the only thing we measured thrying to figure that one out. Jacketed bullets work ok at exact or near standard size I believe. I just load and shoot them, never had any real problems with any except the 243s mentioned above and I don't know if it was their fault, went broke and got rid of it before I solved the problem anyway. I measured some 7mm because I was having problems with that particular gun. Suppose to be .284 but all measured at .2835 and I had several brands and kinds!

I usually measure one or two when I first open a new box. I like try to reduce the chacnes of Murphy showing up at the range.
On a more tedious note I have somewhere araound fifteen hundred j-words in a crate from my last move to sort out.... one of these days.
