Occasionally someone comes along that sums up what I think in a clear concice manner. I'm not a big fan of George Carlin, but he touches on several points that I believe we all can find some semblance of similarity.

YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN

by: George Carlin

I Am Your Worst Nightmare. I am a BAD American. I am George Carlin.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid level governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!

I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way

I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.

I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything.

I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, try to do it in English.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.

My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry Springer.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.

I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time arguing about it.

I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I didn't wander forty years In the desert after getting chased out of Egypt. I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already.

I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson practices, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one?

I think cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are.

And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license.

I think it's good.... and I'm proud that "God" is written on my money.

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.

I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.

And what is going on with gas prices... again?

If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.

Here, here George!

I didn't know he was a conservative? I caught his show at Lake Tahoe once, and though a bit dirty, he is funnier than sheite...

My hero now. Look how many guys thought like that that are now gone.

Who's left?.. Tom Selleck, can't even think of anyone else.

Pat I always thought Carlin was a liberal wacko, but you know what they say about folks getting older and wiser. He is funny, thats a fact.

BTW Tom Selleck is Anti gun. Says he doesn't like to touch em unless he is being paid or so I am told.

Oh ho let's nip that roomer in the bud RIGHT now!..

Tom Sellec is a gun collector, shooter, and pro gun right conservative!

Whoever told you that was full of CRAP!

I met him at the Reno gunshow. My friend is a gunsmith and his specialty is 1911 45's for competition. Tom ordered a custom 45 from him.. after he finished the handgun, my buddy and his wife flew down to LA to deliver the 45 and Tom had them picked up at the airport, spent the day with them showing off his studio operations, his home and some nice arms, and they spent the night at his home.

He's a first class guy, and I wish he woulda took the rains at the NRA.. :drinks:

Hey Pat,

Thanks for setting that straight. It seemed a little odd to me, but with the "Hollywood Bunch" it is tough to tell sometimes. Selleck has always played a wholesome type in the westerns that I have seen and it is good to know he is a gun nut too.

Pat,

You think you could set me up with selling Cameron Diaz a gun and spending the night at her house? [smilie=w:[smilie=s::bigsmyl2:[smilie=p:

Well, first off, I don't believe Carlin wrote that. The same thing has been attributed to Andy Rooney. Check out Snopes to get the story. I've seen it for so long on emails, it makes me glaze over.
As far as Selleck being anti-gun, bad info source there. One of my friends was his stunt double in Magnum PI. They did lots of gun deals, and shot together a lot. He used to have a place across the lake from here, and got in trigger time in Montana.
