MAX O.A.L for M-1 & M1A1

Could someone please give me the MAX. functioning length of loaded rounds for the M-1 & M-14/MIAI

USAMTU uses 2.825 +/- .005 for it's M14/M1A OAL with M118 or 175 MKs as maximum oal to function reliably through the magazines. I've been using that OAL for 40+ years and it has worked fine for me in a lot of M14/M1As.

Thank you, that will give me an idea for bullets that will keep the GC AND the lube grooves inside a 308 case neck. :D
