Where can tin be found and in what forms other than 50/50 bar solder at 20$ a pound? I am looking to something equal to #2 alloy for hardness out of my ww's.

Solder can be found in scrap form at radiator shops; i.e., floor drippings.
Plumbers may have access to "leftovers".
Shops that manufacture/repair circuit boards, electric motors, and other electronics.
Hardware/home improvement stores sell it, as do various online sources.
And of course there is always the scrap yard.

Babbit is a good source of tin if you can find it.

Pewter can often be found at yard sales and secondhand stores.

The various typemetals are rich in tin as well as antimony. You mentioned wanting to approximate No.2 alloy with your wheel weights, so this would be another option.

I add about 2.6ozs of pewter to 10lbs of WW to get my tin content up to about 2%. I figure I have about $2.50/lb into the pewter. I figure the pewter at about 90% tin.
