He was a frequent contributer to this forum and supplied us with a lot of good info from his vast experience which went back a long way. Many thanks and rest in peace. LLS

I knew Ted from when he and I where members of the same gun club here in Mendon, Ma. back when he lived up here. We have traded PM's backf andf forth since he moved south, last one I got from him was on 1/6/10. He was a good man and will be missed by all who knew him.

I did not know him personally, but I hope that the same will be said about us all on our departing this plane.

I hope there are never any primer shortages where you are at.............Happy shooting TED, R.I.P

Ted and I carried on via PM quite a bit. What I liked about him was that he was as crotchety as I am, but with just as big of a heart and soft spot for those who need it.

My wife and I were going fly into SC on our way up to the northeast this early summer and see Ted and his wife.

One thing for certain: There's some lessons on reloading and casting happening up in Heaven right about now.

That made my heart drop. He was the first guy (of many) to pm me and basically give the shirt off his back. What a guy...they definitely broke the mold after he was made.

I'm in total shock. I have been off the forum for a while now with my own health problems. I thought my time was up but I'm still here. This man was a great person to swap ideas with and I am very sorry that he is gone. Like many others I will miss his post. We shall meet and talk again.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Although he lived within an hour of me, we didn't correspond until I was out of state working in NY. Knowing he was in Manning made me feel that I wasn't a lone lunatic in the low country, or the only "damned Yankee" shooting cast in the south. Since then Muddy Creek Sam is on the scene as well.

During the slow moments I often wonder where we, (meaning all of us as Americans), are heading as the folks who believed in the country, as it was founded, pass on.

I know what I do and how to do it well. I am also aware that there is no younger man coming behind me with the desire to learn how to do what I do. Every time I hear of an honest man, who held his values throughout his life, passing on; I wonder if anyone will be there to carry his weight into the future.

I am also sad to hear of his passing.
He was the first guy (of many) to pm me +1

I just looked back at that PM and realized that I've been at this obsession for just over a year! In that PM he said that he was 84; I'm 56, and hope that I can still be doing this for another 28 years!

if your shooting 38 spec try 2.8 of bullseye or 700X.It is the target load for 38 Spec 148 gr.I shoot that in my 4 " bull mod 10,in compitition.or I did as I am out of it 84ys old.I also use it in S&W 52.
it would depend on how good you are as to how many to shoot.at 50 ft you should be able to cut the 10 ring out.and you really have to shoot at a paper target.that load is good to 50yds.beyond that I dont know.
