DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN BP IT IS DANGEROUS, you could hurt someone, blow your house up or destroy a woodshed. You need to make alot of BP to recoup your setup costs for you homemade from scrap tools and commercial BP is available everywhere...you can proably even get it at walgreens, walmart, Kmart and such...why would someone want to know how to do something that has been done for eons in huts and caves anyway?

But if you do decide to make the holy black or read about it "for educational purposes only"...this method works alot more better for our intended useage. More powerful and cleaner burning...in fact if you use properly made willow charcoal, rubber makers sulfer, and simple KNO3 stump remover you can proably get real close to goex/ wano quality.

The CIA wet corning process is "a way" but not the" best way" for bp used in firearms..or so I am told.

see also:

ball mill, puck, quality ingredients, and loooong extension cords JIC and TCYA.

PVC is not the best choice for your puck sleeve...just a heads up from "a guy I know". An aluminum / brass sleeve/ram works alot mo betta or so I am told. I was told HD- PVC will work for awhile but at some point it will crack under the pressure from the bottle jack while making the puck.

Have fun while you read about being self sufficient.

Here. http://www.homegunsmith.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=101;t=20596;hl=homemade

29 pages of discussion about making BP.

I'm not one to get all worried about other people doing things that can get themselves hurt. But if you do hurt yourself, man up and take the responsibility on the one one that is to blame. Read up on what you are doing, be educated on the safety aspects as well as the legal ones. If you are going to cut corners on either aspect, you may as well at least know why you are learning to type with a pencil in your mouth, or sitting in a jail cell, or both.

Look into the amateur pyrotechnics scene if you want good info, too. Some pretty neat stuff being done there, with a good safety record.

Be safe!
