Just got a new Lyman 429215 2 cav. GC. from MidSouth $65.00 and that included shipping. Midway would have been about 10 or 12 dollars more. Great looking mold. Will be trying it out in about a week or as soon is I can find time, busy with some other projects. I know, prioritys where are your prioritys.

Love MidSouth and their prices. Lately they've had both 8mm Karabiner and 8mm Maximum custom molds in 2-bangers. I'm waiting for the 22 Bator to come back in stock....

Keep us posted on the 429215 progress.

I like the 429215 in my 44 Special. While the SPL doesn't really need a gas check, it works fine with one.

My two favorite loads are 8.5gr Unique w/ a standard LP primer, and 7.5gr Universal w/ a standard LP primer.

Both loads should only be used in post-war S&W N frames or equivalent guns, just to be safe. I shoot them in my Lipsey's 44 SPL Blackhawk.

I think you will like this mold, If it drops the boolits the correct size for your 44's...I've been using that boolit for 30+ years in mine and I won't be with out that mold, mine are all older molds and I have no problems with them, the new ones from Lyman seem to be giving folks fits with the size boolits they drop, I hope yours works for you. Good Luck :bigsmyl2: :redneck: :cbpour: :Fire:

I have about 300 cast up that I got from my brothers estate. There were originaly about
500 So I have shot about 200 of them. I was using 22 gr. of 2400 and shooting them in my
14" TC. They shoot great. I also got my brothers 4 screw S&W 7" Nickle plated 44 Mag. He bought that in 1957. I load the 215 with 7.5 gr. of Unique. That is a real fun load, about like shooting light 38s in my S&W Highway Patrol. I got that one from my fathers estate. He bought that one in 1947 it's a 5 screw. Both of them have had 1000s of rounds put through them. They are in excellent shape. I had to have the 357 shimmed though, it had a little end play in the cylinder. Oh! back to the mold. Got a little side tracked there. I got the mold because I was getting a little low on the ones I got from my brother.
By the way the 357 Highway Patrol has a .355 barrell on it. I have slugged it several times and allways comes out to .355. I have never had to clean lead deposit out of that barrel. It does not make any difference what kind of lead bullets I shoot, soft, hard, what ever, it just does not lead up.
