i have had a 50 cal ranson made in italy muzzeloader for over 27 years the rason company i have bin told is now called investarms they make all lyman's muzzeloaders .all the lock and trigger's fit strate in to mine my trigger was worn out and my lock tumbler to. got the lyman great plains trigger and lock tumbler fixed the problem,i never liked the blue finish and the trigger gurd and ramrod pipes and alumminium under rib. so i fitted a steel under rib i browned all the steel and fitted a new trigger gurd ramrod pipes a hawkin buckhorn sight from track of the wolf and a silver blade front sight, and fitted a toe plate. this gun was worth it ,it has always bin a good shooter i have kiled a lot of goat;s and pigs with it over the years. but now it looks like a front stuffer should heres some pic's before and after the 50 cal is the top gun in the first pic.

thanks blackwater it turnd out better than expected. i did up my .54 cal tryon plains riffle it is a 1982 model, and when i got it second hand it had the but cut down to 12/1/2 inch lop. so i built up the but with hard rubber but it never looked good so 18 months ago i got a semi finished curly mapple stock from the pedersoli dealer and finished it and browned the barrel and i light tuch of brown over the coulor case on the furnature it has a 1 in 48 twist not the 1in66 like the newer ones, it also has a smaller bore .530 and grove . 542 got a custom lee push through sizer at .429 i have the lee .433 mini wich i put through the sizer it is a real tack holer and a lovely gun to shoot . seepic's befor and after.

Great job. Nice looking rifles. Looks allot like my Cabelas 50/58. I was told their guns were made by Lyman!

moonman they are made by investarms in italy for lyman.they are very good guns for the money . and one thing about italian guns every one that is made in italy has to pass the proof tests rules at the italian national proof house .this taken from an artical on pedersoli gun Pedersoli & Co. like all Italian firearms manufacturers, is required by law, to have every firearm proof tested at the Italian National Proof House in Gardone Italy.
