|Hi.
Just a quick question.
Does anyone know the diameter of the threaded rod assembly on the lyman lube sizer?
The long rod that the lube goes into in the reservoir.

It looks like ¼ inch all the way through but I just want to make sure.

5/16x 20 tpi left hand on my old model 45. I made my own o-ring piston years ago after getting tired of the leakage. Need a tap and die? I've never used it again.....

My Lyman 45 and my 450 both use 3/8 x 20 thread on the through rod. This is a non standard size. My RCBS uses 3/8 x 16 which is standard coarse thread. What is it your needing to do?

im just trying to make some hallow lube sticks for a few guys but i want to make sure the diameter of the rod in the center is not to small.

so it sounds like 3/8 would be good.
cheers.

If you use a 3/8 wooden dowel it should work fine as they are just a tiny bit over 3/8". A lot of folks just heat the lube and pour it in the sizer. Does take a few minutes to set but no air pockets.
