WOW! Got this mold today and had to give it a shot. After cleaning and seasoning the mold per the directions, I began casting. Took about 50 or so boolits to start getting keepers. I was running around 750* with straight ww alloy. Every once in a while I found it difficult to get it off one pin, but a couple firm taps would get it off. I am going to try polishing the pins to see if that helps. BUT, the most important part....size. Mine runs .360". Right on the money! I had one GC cavity and one PB cavity. Right out of the mold both are dropping right at 168-169 grains. Perfect! This mold was well worth the wait...now I just hope it shoot well!

I tried out my new 4 cav on Sunday. It took many pours to get the massive mold up to temp. I could not see myself dipping the work of art into the melt. Do others dip their NOEs? I think I'll invest in a hot plate, been meaning to anyhow.

I too had a few instances of boolits sticking on the pins. I found a sweet spot of cool time before opening and a brisk opening helped alot. Also, I tried some Husqvarna 2-cycle chainsaw motor oil (my flavor of sprue lube) on the pins and that helped as well.

Got mine on Saturday, tried it out on Sunday, Cleaned it, heated it, lubed it and started casting. Casting went very well indeed. One would occaisionaly stick to the pin but as stated above briskly opening the mold usually resulted in clean drop out. My first with this type of HP pin design and it seems to work every bit as well the Cramer style. Actually might be a little better as there is not pin tapping required.

Just read in another post, that putting a bit of Bullplate on the pin solved the sticking problem .. Good Luck Russ.

How are you guys seasoning the molds? Casting or oven?

Un-related question - does the post above mean that Husky 2-stroke oil equals BullPlate?

No, that's just what he uses as a sprue lube.

Fired the pot up tonight after scrubbing the mould with some Zud and super hot water. Heated up on the pot and dipped for 30 seconds, after two pours it started thowing keepers and casted a 100 in a short time with this 5 cavity, very nice mic's at .360 on all bands in all cavities and drops well, sprue cuts with a gloved hand after 5 or so pours, like this mould very much as usual with NOE I did experience some alignment pin sticking as I do on my other two NOE moulds, but as you use them this gets better and it isn't a big deal. I just love these 5 cavity moulds and absolutely salute the sprue plate on these, IMO much better than the ungainly cam handle on the 6 cavity Lee's.

After cutting the sprue, I lightly tap the handles and the mold comes open very easily.

j20owner got it right. Sorry if I misled anyone on my lube of choice.

I sprayed my mold with contact cleaner, lubed the pins with Bullplate and started casting( mines a 5 cav, 3 pb 2 gc) in my Garage here in Buffalo NY. Had to dip the mold into the melt to get it up to temp but then it cast great. This is the most uniform multi cavity mould that I have used. The pb cavities consistantly run +- a couple tenths and so do the GC cavities. This is a darn nice mold, well worth the wait.

Is anyone else's flat point pins just a touch too long? My flat point boolits have a very, very shallow HP. I personally think it is kinda neat and may actually perform quite well on game. When I close the blocks upside down it makes the HP just a touch deeper. Just curious, not upset by ANY means! :cbpour:

That is so you can use it with your lever gun tubular magazine.:kidding:

Did some shooting with the plain based bullets over the past few days with my 94 Winchester .357. Weather was in the 20's and I shot 50 yds at my home range just resting my elbows on the bench. I shot 6 or seven 3 shot groups each with some different loads and the rifle has a Williams receiver sight on it. There were a few tight clusters of about 3/4" but most groups averaged 1-1.5" which for conditions and my bench technique I was happy with. I tried 9.5 Blue Dot, 12.5 /2400, and 15/820. Blue Dot was the best (also the slowest about 1400 fps) but the 2400 was pretty close and I'm sure faster although I didn't set up the chronograph. Didn't really prove much but just had to at least send some of the new boolits down range. I'll get a little more serious when the weather warms up.

Finally got 150 rounds down the new GP100 blued 6". I stuck with 2400 for the first 50, then the last 100 rounds shot another 50 2400 loads at 12.5 grains and 50 using 15 grains of Lil Gun. The Lil Gun load is out shooting the 2400 load and appears faster. I will chrono these this weekend. I shot two cylinders into 2" at 50 yards with this load and like it.
I am shooting gas checks with the boolits sized .358, the throats on this revolver are .357.

I made it out to my lease and did some shooting with bullets from the 360-180 WFN, GC cast with wheel weights, water-cooled, sized to .358 in an RCBS LAM out of a Handi-Rifle.

Shot out of .357 Magnum cases with 15 grains of Lil" Gun we got holes in holes at 40 yards just shooting off the hood of my Landcruiser. This was only at 40 yards because I wasn't even sure we would be on the target. Turns out, it was dead-on. Shot out of .360 Dan Wesson cases over 19 grains of Lil' Gun seemed to be just as accurate.

Next time I make it out there, I'll sight-in at 80 yards (That's about as far as we ever shoot deer) and see what I get. I will also be trying them with a 50-50 WW/pure lead, air-cooled. If the accuracy remains the same, I'll be using that for deer next season.

I'll post the results.

I shoot this boolit out of my 360 DW at 100 yds with 15gr of Lilgun. Accuracy is very good!

I'd have no problem taking a deer that far away with this boolit combo.
