Picked up about 20 lbs of Winchester 540 and H 870 at a garage sale cheap. The 540 will go for my skeet loads, any suggestions for the 870?

Use H870 as WC872/WC860. Check out the threads having these numbers, with and without the WC. ... felix

Hey Green,
That's some nice stuff. Makes a great 1/18-1/14oz. 12 ga load. A bit of a whumper for a skeet load but the shotgun is the way to use alot up in a hurry.

cabezaverde, using WC872, 48.7grs.(3.4cc Lee scoop) and Lyman 311284 works very well in my two Krags. You can't put enough of this powder in the casing to get in trouble...Ray

Can I assume the same for a 35 Remington Contender?

No, use WC844 or WC846, picking the cheapest at the time of order. ... felix

Cabezaverde, I don't own a .35 Remington. I don't think it would work very well, your practically shooting a straight wall case. Others here can better answer your question...Ray
