I have a saeco #356 mould that drops a little undersized, the bore riding area especially. I was thinking lapping it would be the best fix. What do the experts think?

i'd try beagling first and see how it responds to the sizer and bbl.
then maybe a slow lapping.

What size are they coming out now, and how much more size do you need?

I have lapped moulds out up to 0.004" successfully. It is work though and there is risk of ruining a mould.

How much do you need? If only a thou or two then it is quite easy but as runfiverun pointed out Beagling is easier... and no risk of mould damage.

I would give the Beagling a try then if it works you can decide it you want to lap. If it doesn't then lapping may not do it either. Beagling can give you up to about 0.003" larger.

beagle first, may never need to lap. Far easier and reversible.
