The only foil tape I could find is ipg brand intertape polymer group.
Mold drops great boolits but the tape falls off after 200-300 boolits is this normal?
I looked for 3M brand but this is all I could find. I am casting 2-6 cavities alternateing molds with a 20lb bottom pour and feeding it with a 10lber and just when I get things really going gang busters the tape falls off and then I need to stop production.:x

Rem700,

I have 3M and sometimes it will move about or come off. I just reposition it or stick it back on. Eventually, it will stay on. Worse case, cut another piece.

If you ever need to remove it, use acetone.

If you don't need the smaller size that your mould is casting, go ahead and lap the mould.

Can anyone tell me what the part number is for the 3M tape that works best? They usually print the number written on the inside of the core somewhere.

Thanks,
Jim

The original stuff I used was made by the Royal Tape Company. Didn't have a number on it./beagle

This is the stuff that worked best for me, even better that the aluminium duct tape, as it will stay in place almost permanent. Comes of the mould face cold easily with a razor blade and a little solvent.

All the info you'll need can be found in this forum. Try to convert it to paper. There will come a time when the P.C. will be useless.
Your welcome.

Sundog is right about the flue tape, but you should be aware that it is thicker than the duct tape. One layer of duct tape will gain you about 0.001", and the flue tape will do almost 0.003". On a bore rider this could be too much.
