Say if your boolits are coming out .309 and you slugged the bore at .309? :coffeecom

Its late/early and all i can think about at work anymore is casting the first BOOLIT!

DW I think youre refering to casting/sizing and not swaging, which is a whole "nuther" ballgame.

But for your question, The bullet being .001 larger than the bore size is a good rule of thumb.

Some folks will "bump" up their cast bullets to get a larger diameter or change the nose shape or to just make them a bit more uniform than sizing will do. I haven't seen much mention of bumping or bump dies for a while now.

My bad, your right, was referring to sizing. will search "bumping" as leadsmith advised.

Just was thinking to much.

No worries, lots of solutions for undersized bullets. Lapping the cavities, beagling, bumping, even going to a harder alloy will make the bullets come out a little bigger.
