newbie ? on furnace

If you have a bottom pour furnace, can you use the laddle method to pour into mold? seems like a no-brain'r but i had to ask

Yes, but some pots are easier than others. If the valve rod is vertical and off to one edge, it works fine, but the Lee 10 pound pot has the rod running at an angle right through the center of the pot. That makes it a real battle. On one of my Lee 10 pounders, I removed the rod completely and brazed the valve closed for ladle casting.

Yes except when you are limited by space. For example if your using a Lee 10#er the stopper rod will constantly be in the way.

There is plenty of room to use an RCBS ladle with a Lee twenty pound pot.
