M4 barrel question...

...this isnt exactly a cast bullet type of question, but I trust you guys enough to get a good answer on just about anything from 25-20 loads, to M4's, to who to vote for in November... ;-)

Bottom line... I am looking at a Colt M4, 14.5", 1-7 twist chrome lined barrel (SOCOM MilSpec) with a perm. pinned flashhider which brings the length to 16.1 inches.. the seller states the throat erosion shows 5.25 on his gauge. Is this barrel shot out? Will it still group decently with XM193 (yeah, the J***eted stuff)?

5.25? it's not shot out...it just had over 6500 rounds through the tube, that's all. :naw:

I'd class a 1903 barrel or a M1 barrel at 5.25 as a blank for 8mm.....5.56 barrel at 5.25=toss in scrappile and buy another barrel.
