View Full Version : RCBS Pro melt won't get hot enough?

Just got a RCBS pro melt to replace my aging Lee pot, and while it's very well built and solid as a rock, and I love the no drip bottom pour, it won't go over 700 deg., in fact it'll barely get there.

Is there a way to ajust the contacts on the thermostat? It looks like everything is pop riveted together, no real way to take it apart like on my Lee.

700 will work for most of my casting, but some of the 30 cal stuff needs to be run a bit hotter to get good fill out.

Should I just contact RCBS?

Thanks,
Will

Pull the plastic knob off and there should be an adjustment screw underneith, very fine head. Turn it one way or the other to get what you want - or call RCBS.

Thanks, I'll give it a try in the morning.
