A friend and I are trying to find a mold maker that can supply a mold for the .338 that would weigh upwards of in the 300 gr. area or more. Anybody have a lead on this for us?Robert & A.J. Peacock

Thanks Nobade for the site. However what we are looking for is a spitzer or postell shape for high speed distance shooting.Robert

My guess is that you will need to go to a custom shop. Here's one that I would suggest:

Mountain Molds IS a "custom shop".

YOU design the bullet according to your own concept, and he then cuts that design in a mould.

If you somehow screw up the design and don't like the bullet, guess what...it's YOUR problem!

If you draw up a pointed 300-grain .338, that's what you'll get. Couldn't be simpler. There are plenty of folks on this Board who've used the services of MM, and if their designs were sound, so are the results. There are also a few whose ideas didn't pan out, but that, as mentioned above, is their own problem.

It's not nearly as bad as rolling the dice, however.
