Just shot a bunch of 429-421s out of my Marlin 94. They fed/fired perfectly. I loaded 6 with 5gr. Bullseye and it was very mild. Like a 2.5 .410 bore. They were accurate as well. Loaded a bagful at 22gr. 2400 and they were a good bit more stout! And twice as loud. Looked down the bore when I got done shooting the bore was clean aside from some old maids. No streaks or leading. I am casting from ACWWS clip-ons.

That is great. I think that big deep lube groove really helps on pushing them fast from a longer barrel. I have the ballard rifling, on a 20". I added the target knob Williams FP, that little shooter is tough to beat with a 429421 over a good charge of 2400 (I only went to 20g) lubed with NRA 50/50, man it works great.

Good boolit design. Looks like you have found a real winner. I am a touch
surprised that it feeds properly with that big square nose. Great news for
you.

Bulla, I have the same rifle (in stainless). Do you crimp in the criming groove?

EMC45, my Marlin has the Ballard Rifling, but I think that won't make big difference, where were you crimping yours?

I am asking because I have heard of others crimping over the front driving band rather than the crimping groove. When I get about to ordering a mould for this rifle, I am hoping that I can avoid buying a mould that won't work or isn't really the best option. I know that others have not been able to get this boolit to feed in their Marlins for love nor money.

Nope the 429-421 W/ round lube groove. I took the Marlin apart and realized there was a little streaking in the bore. A few passes with a wrapped brush (0000 steel wool) and it is again mirror bright! That little gun is neat.

Wish I could get that bullet to feed in my 1894 :(

I have the 429244 and it feeds only when crimped over the top of the first driving band in a Marlin .444. Looks alot like that boolit.

Careful with that 0000 steel wool....you've only got one muzzle..and when it's gone...it's gone. I like nylon scrubbies for mine..works as well and not wear on the crown...In the pistols, a Lewis lead remover can't be beat. JMHO...Rodfac

I pull the bolt and go from the chamber. It is rare also. It is not part of my regular cleaning regimen.

Not too long ago I bought a new 1894 Marlin in 44 mag. It would not feed SWC loads. I read on one of the forums that you might need to break the edge on the chamber with a stone just a little and after doing that, it now feeds my 429244 & 429421 from Miha's mould - both are smooth & good to go. 429421 from Lee's mould is too long and the carrier will not lift. I understand there is a fix for that but so far I have not investigated that alteration.

I used a dremel tool with a round stone and just barely touched the chamber edges. Hardly noticable with the eye. But it feeds smoothly now.
