I have been thinking on a 270 VJ for a while. A 270 cal straight wall,cast
bullet,lever action cowboy rifle. I think it would make a neat rifle'

Yes, it would, Don. Keep the twist on the slow side so you can take advantage of the smaller (zero recoil) boolits. I don't know the case size you are talking about??? ... felix

The parent case for the 270 VJ is the 22 Hornet.

Never heard of the .270 VJ, but the .270 REN is also based on the hornet, and is quite popular in NRA Hunter Pistol and IHMSA Field Pistol. TC made barrels, as did some others. Tools should be readily available.
