I am casting and loading for 30-06, 308, 303 British, 7.62x54R Russian, 7.62x39 Russian, 30-40 Krag and 8mm Mauser. I heard Unique is a great powder for those loads. Is it true 10 grains will meet my needs for all these calibers?

10 grains of unique is a great starting point for all the cartridges you listed with perhaps the exception being the 7.62x39. 10 grains may or may not be a little hot for that one, I don't have any loading experience with the 7.62x39. All the others you can start with 10 grains and work up from there if needed.

Pick up a copy of the "Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook." It has a lot of loads listed with Unique in most, if not all, of the calibers you listed.

Hope this helps,

You will find 10 unique is a great starting load for all of those calibers. As previously
stated, 7.62x39 is a much smaller case, may not be OK. It is usually a mild and accurate
load in most of these calibers.

I had great luck with the lighter cast boolits (Lyman 311316) and 7-8 grains of unique in my CZ bolt gun. I'm sure that load would be a good starting place for other boolits in that weight range. Makes a great 32-20.

Good morning
As with all rifles that throat area must be filled. IF possible I go with a Soft boolit over Unique. 50/50 mix is as hard as I would use. I would start with 25%WW-75% lead. I dought you are going to see any leading. I ended up with 14 grains in my 30-06 Military Bolt rifles as a general load. My Krags I run at 12 grains but with a 220gr RN .315 .
I have not tried Unique in my SKSīs. I started with 1680 + 155GC Lee (50-50) and at 17.5-18 grains they shoot so nicely I never tried anything else.
