Anyone have a source for an accurate oven Thermometer ?? going to start OHTing and want to make sure I'm not under heating them by relying on the oven controls

Most oven thermometers are accurate by 25-35 degrees. You probably want something closer than that to quench. A mercury thermometer is your best bet but I don't know if you can find one new. They were $70 or so in the mid 90's from a gas speciality catalog.

Put one boolit in and watch for it to start slumping, set the termostat about 25 degrees lower and put the tray full in the oven. It's best if you are using a convection oven, they heat the whole area more evenly.
I hope that you're not OHTing for pistol boolits.

Wayne S,

The Hornet and the 223 may need "some" hardenng but air cooled WW should work well in the 30-30 and the 7-30. My 30-30 (180 gr) shoots air cooled WW (12 BHN) very well @ 1900 fps with zero leading, my 308 (180 gr) shoots air cooled WW (12 BHN) up to 2000 fps into 2 inch groups at 200 meters with zero leading.
