No, not the underground comics artist.

In an old (1990) NEI mould catalog I have, there is a bullet listed as being 0.388" in diameter. That is close to what the inside of the 41 Long Colt case is, so I was interested. It is listed as being 198gr. It is similar in shape to a Keith SWC. It is neither hollow-base nor heel-base, so I really doubt it was for a 41LC.

The additional information is that it is Plain Base and it was designed by G.Crum. That spelling. There is no other information. BTW, there was an identical, but shorter one listed at 165gr, also PB by G.Crum.

Any information, anyone?

Interesting: If you loaded that in a .41 Long Colt case crimped it properly, loaded it in a cylinder with .388 throats and fired it down a barrel with .388 groove diameter, all in a .41 Army Colt sized revolver. You would have something.

I thought of that a few years ago. The cost to get a custom barrel made (not a standard size) is breathtaking. I abandoned that idea really quick.

Gene Crum wrote firearms articles a number of years ago. I have not read anything from him for several years now. Neil
