Well, I went looking for some W-231 powder at some gunshops in my area the other day (no luck), and came across a Single Six SSM with a 4 5/8" barrel, and adjustable sights in nearly new condition. I've been looking for one for quite a while, and was really pleased to find it. I gave a little over $400 for it, but still less than a new SP-101, and I like it better for my usees. I'm sure it has been fired very little if at all. It looks good dimensionally so I've got some Lyman 3118's loaded over Titegroup, and some Hornady 90 gr. HBWC's loaded over a couple of grains of the same thing. ( I'm looking for a quiet load to carry when snowshoeing there). I also have the Lyman 311316 molds, but the ones I have cast right this minute are out of the 311316U mold, and drop at .310 so are a bit small for this gun. ( great in my 30-30 though!) I'll cast some out of the regular 311316 mold that I have soon. Both those molds are single cavity as is my old 3118, but they all drop great bullets about as fast as you can cast so it goes pretty well.

If anyone has some SSM /.32 H&R loads to share, or tales to pass along about them I'd be glad to hear them. Part of the fun, and enjoyment of owning any gun is to live the shared experiences of others! (why else would companies sell so many African guns?)

Good on you. I have the 9.5" barrel which I have to cut back one day. It's my only scoped handgun, in deference to my failing eyes, and wears an ancient Bushnell Phantom 1.3x and it shoots great.

The 32 mag in the SSM just doesn't seem to show pressure signs like most other guns. Maybe it's just my gun, but I go from brass falling from the chamber to pierced primers in nothing flat.

I use Starline brass. The 311316 should be a great boolit for your gun.

I had small stash of Starline brass, and the dies, etc. on the hope of finding a gun I liked so I was all set there. Good thing with the scarcity of the brass right now. I'm hoping the 3118 will work for the quieter loads, and the 311316 will work for the serious stuff. If not, I'll get a mold, or two in the 90-100 grain range.

I use the Lee 90 grain SWC .314 in my SP 101 and my H&R 32 Long. In the Ruger I use up to 5 grains Universal. The Ruger is build for 357 mag pressures The 32long is a cupcake compared to the 32 mag. Just 3 grains of Universal or 2.7 graind Trail Boss about 850 fps Ordered a NOE 118 g solid or 100grain hollow point for it
