I bought one of these casting "furnaces" from Lyman (factory reconditioned). In hindsight (always 20-20), I probably should have spent the money to get one with a temperature control. So, two questions (all the Lyman tech folks are out at the Shot Show this week):
How do you adjust the temperature -- just by adding new metal (to cool it) or just let it keep cooking to raise the temperature?
Where should the heating element be positioned relative to the pot -- sitting on the bottom, up a half-inch, or? (The clip that secures the heating element was loose when the pot arrived. I can tighten it up, but don't want to end up with the heating element in the wrong position.
