Hello, I have looked everywhere for load data for this plated bullet and I have came up empty handed.

I'm looking for data with both Bullseye and/or Accurate 1680 powders. The max velocity is 1700fps so I would like to keep the loads between 1500 to 1700 (should give me room to tweak accuracy). The rifle is a Yugo SKS, and I will be using the gas shut off to save brass.

I have found loads for 155grs and heaver but nothing around this weight.

Can anyone confirm these numbers? From searching the forum and compiling several different loads I have come up with this data. For Accurate 1680 I have come up with 16gr (about 1500fps) as a starting load and 18gr (1700fps) as max. For Bullseye I came up with 8gr for start and 9gr max. I'm not as sure of the Bullseye data as I am of the 1680 data. What do you think of this data?

That sounds like a lot of Bullseye to me......

I use 16 gr of 1680 with my 129 gr and 155 gr cast loads. It is one of the most accurate loads in two different SKS's. I would use Unique rather than Bullseye. 2400 also works well.

Red Dot had dissapointing results. Anybody else?

If you have data for heavier bullets or boolits with 1680, it will be safe (pressure wise)
with the lighter boolit. You may have to adjust it based on your desired accuracy or
velocity, but you can be sure of being safe if you are using data for a heavier boolit and
using a lighter boolit. Less resistance from the lighter boolit, so pressure will be lower.

Some powders will not reach their ideal combustion pressure and may be partially
unburned with lighter boolits, but this is still safe.

Read the article in the top post of this thread http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=13425 . It should give you some ideas.

I am shooting a 95 Grain SWC with 3.0 grains of Green Dot in my Mini-Mauser, it is aokay for plinking.

Try 14.5gr of 2400. I use this load behind any 125 or 150gr pill and it performs well. It has enough umpf to cycle the action, but it keeps the brass in the same time zone. It should be between 1500 and 1700 fps depending on the weight of the pill.

You could also try 9gr of Unique. That should put you close to 1700fps for a 110gr pill. Don't expect this load to cycle the action though.

* * * ONLY DO THE FOLLOWING IF YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED RELOADER * * *

If you want to have some real fun, start at 9gr of Unique, and drop by 1/2gr increments until you get into sub-sonic territory. It should sound like an air rifle on steroids. If you have a chronograph, you'll know exactly when you go sub.

1 - the muzzle report will be very quiet

2 - you won't have the zipping sound that the bullet makes as it flies to the target (think 22LR - crack - FFFFFFFFF - thwap)

3 - you will hear the thwap with no difficulty

4 - the folks at the benches next to you will wonder what you're shooting and why you need such a thing - they will then either start to either gather around with interest, or leave in fear :holysheep
