Furter-Olten 300 meter rifle:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/BobS1/Swiss/Furter-Olten/Furter-Olten.jpg

Serial number 453. The sticker with tiny writing on it has a FY 95 "Waffen Kontract" number on it, so I assume it was made in 1995 or 1996. Has two LTI stickers from tournaments in 1998 and 1999. Trigger pull is two stage, and only a few ounces, that will take some getting used to. Will accept a 7.50 mm (0.2953") bore gauge, but not 7.51. Groove diameter is 0.3081" at two inches ahead of the chamber, 0.3078" at muzzle. The "throat" makes all of my K31 throats look "generous"!.

The challenges for getting this one on the firing line in US competition will be finding another magazine; only one 6-round detachable magazine provided, and mounting a sight that will have sufficient elevation for at least 600 yards, and preferably 1000.

More later ....

Resp'y,
Bob S.

Bob,

That's a cool looking target rifle... You seem to find all the great toys.

Very nice, Bob. With that choked bore, I'd bet it will be a REAL shooter! It sure looks
the part.

Furter-Olten. Looks almost hand-made. I hope to get some "shop-time" with it this weekend, will take more detailed pix then.

I have a Furter rear sight for one of my K31s. It is truly a work of art. I assume that
this is the same Furter in your gun's name, which would make me think that it is
probably far nicer than is possible to show in pictures.
