How does one remove the cross bolt?

I would dislike having a hole in my reciever far more than the safety that I routinely leave in the fire positon and ignore.

Find yourself a little o ring to fit over the safety when it is off, I don't even know it's there unless someone reminds me, be darn glad you have that and not the damn *** tang safety they came out with on the later 94's.

Buy those little plastic hole covers that are used on furniture screw holes to cover the cross bolt hole.

I don't like the idea of taking a safety completely off of a gun, so I trimmed and blued the left end of my safety. It will still work if necessary, but doesn't get pushed on accidentally; and no unsightly holes are left in the receiver.
