Yes Lloyd, I think it is true. I heard that it might be so last night while at work, but couldn't confirm it. Jeff, or Madcaster, as we all knew him was a truly great guy and a great friend of mine. Jeff was a very generous and honest man, he will be sorely missed. All I heard is that his wife Rhonda came home yesterday and found him passed away. He was forty-six years old. One of the really really good guys. Rest in peace Madcaster old pal.

not trying to butt in, but jeff lissted a bunch of stuff for sale.
is it possible that one of the guys that knew him could work with his wife to complete those deals ?
not today...but in a couple of days take a copy of the for sale post to her, and offer to finish up what he started, i'm sure the cash whould be nice at a time like this.

Jeff Stamper has passed on. I spoke to his sister-in-law just now and confirmed that he died of a massive heart attack. Visitation will be Tuesday night with the funeral following on Wednesday. Jeff was a great individual both on and off the boards for those of us that had the oppurtunity to know him. Please keep Jeff's family in your thoughts and prayers through this trying time.

A couple of days???

I would be greatly surprised if his wife would turn her attention to something so mundane for a month or more, after losing her husband so suddenly. I couldn't blame her if she waited a year before thinking about what to do with her dead husband's 'toys'...and (when it does happen) she might prefer to give them to family members.

I'm just sayin'..

Let us first honor Jeff's memory before we start sniveling over such trivial matters. I am sure all those things will be settled in due time, but this is not it.

I have to agree Jeff was a great person to deal with.

Yes he was far too young at only 46 to be called up. But one can look at it as a whole new adventure.

best wishes and prayers to his family and freinds

I'd have to agree with MT on the deal thing. His wife is not going to be in any condition to deal with those things for a long time.

Speaking as one who is going into the fourth month of trying to understand what happened, I can say that poor girl is going to be in bad shape. Her husbands death was very sudden.

I had five years to see it coming and it still kicked the piss out of me. Leave her alone for now.

my 2 cents,

roadie

Yes folks leave the widow alone on the deals. I lost my first wife at 54 years of age and after 8 years it still hurts.

Give her prayers and space she will know when it's time.

RIP Jeff.

He is missed already. God bless his family. I had my first angioplasty at 46. But for the wonders of modern medicine I may never have known my 18 year old son, as we'd just found out he was coming then.

I'm still shaking my head.

Jeff made me a heckuva deal on an old Lyman45 he'd found somewhere after I'd mentioned that it was probably about time to think about pulling the handle on a lubesizer again. I wouldn't swear but what he went out and found it after our conversation. I still have it--it's the one I restored and posted "before & after" pictures of it.

We used to swap some old Air Force stories seeing as we shared some of the same base space on a couple of my TDYs.

A good man, a God-like man, and a man far too young to leave us--but a man far too good to stay with us one minute longer than the Lord wanted him to.

That lubesizer will always have a permanent spot on my bench. It will be a constant reminder of someone who always did a lot of good in this world.

Godspeed and God Bless.

I've known Jeff for about 5 years. We swapped molds back and forth, he bought some of mine, I bought several from him.

He would send me PM's to wish me happy birthday, Merry Christmas, etc.

A real class act fellow.

We are less on this board because of his passing.

I've just realized this thread was here. I'd heard something about Jeff's passing, but wasn't sure. My Deepest Sympathy goes out to his Family & Friends.
When I first joined the forum, and started my VS Site he PM'd me and said how great it was to have me on the boards. He also said with his subtle way
"Nice name too" and a
I'll never forget it.
After that, just like Ben, we swapped quite a few moulds. Mainly project stuff. He'd PM me and let me know he got this or that, and asked if I wanted it/them. Then I'd reply with a " I've picked these up, wanna do some swappin'?"
This was ongoing nearly every week or two. I miss his companionship and subtleness more & more.
Thanks for this Thread, and to all who post here. Atleast he's well remembered now and forever. What a great guy!
Thoughtfully,
Jeff - a.k.a masscaster
