while my nephew was carrying my rifle in the other day, apparently 2 screws fell out of the side and there is a part rattling around inside. Can one of you guide me to an exploded parts diagram of a Rossi 92 357 rifle? it seems to be a simple matter and I might try to fix it myself if it is simply a case of putting apart back in the right spot and installing 2 screws.

What about Gun Parts Inc. (old Numerich Arms) up in West Hurley NY?

Try a google search, they've got a bunch of diagrams on-line.

Sounds like a ctg guide, Numerich has the exploded view on line and they should have your screws too. When you put the new screws in put a drop of fingernail polish on each one and snug them down and they should hold for years.

Could also try Steve Young dba Rossi '92 Specialists. steve@stevesgunz.com Steve does or used to do the warranty work for EMF. Have dealt with him twice and both times he has come up with the parts for my '92. Might give him a try and let him know what you need.

stevesgunz.com is the man to talk to, he is the 92 Rossi guru.
If it is a cartaridge guide screw and it's on the left side then you will need to take the gun apart to put the flat spring back under the guide.
The right side does not have a spring.
There are 4 screws on the left side, the upper forward screw is a take down screw the next one back and a little lower is the guide screw the next and a little lower is the lifter screw the rear most is the hammer pivot screw.
On the right side are 3 screws, the upper most forward is the rt side guide screw, the next one back and a little lower is the rt side lifter screw and the last is the loading gate screw.

I can talk you thru the disassembly and reassy. if you wish, but it is long winded and it has to come apart in surten order or you won't get it apart and there are some tricks to know to put it back together

Thanks for the input Dudes. I don't know why I didn't think about doing a search for it. It is indeed the right cartridge guide that was rattling around and the right cartridge guide screw is missing. Can I just hold the guide in place while installing anew screw or does it have to obe disassembled? There is also another hole in the receiver wall above and in front of the cartridge guide screw. I guess it is just for looks?

Can I just hold the guide in place while installing anew screw

Yes you can, if you can get the holes lined up. With the rifle laying on its right side slowly open the action and watch for the guide to come into view, if you can see and get your finger on it, it should slide forward and back a little, while holding the guide turn the rifle over, slide the guide inline with screw hole and install the screw. The finge nail polish trick works that KCSO suggessted but it makes it hard to remove the screw if needed, I would use Loctite 222, it is a small screw thread locker and will allow you to remove the screw easly

There is also another hole in the receiver wall above and in front of the cartridge guide screw. I guess it is just for looks?

This hole is opposit the take down screw on the left side, it is used to remove a pin that holds the lever-locking lug assy. and the ejector assy. that is under spring tension.DO NOT REMOVE THAT PIN, unless you are going to diassemble the rifle and only then after you have removed the lower tang-trigger assy.
The ejector assy. is a real pain to get back in place for reassy.

Have a good day and good luck

I caught this thread a little late but as others have stated Steve Young knows his stuff! That being said the Rossi 92's are not hard at all to dissasemble, and slick up while your at it. Heres a link to a good article of the Rossi 92 with field stripping and slicking up instructions with picts. Hope this helps.....Steve
