Hi i want to use a lyman 4500 heater and put it into a block of aluminum.
What size hole needs to be drilled into the plate? I have a 5/8 piece is that thick enough?
Thanks
bruce

Cheese, you do realize of course a clean bench/desk is the sign of a sick mind right?

You pictures have inspired me to make up some similar heater bases and put a fresh coat of paint on the old 45. Yours looks great sitting on the bench..

I went to the local thrift shop and bought an second hand hair curler.
many of them use the same type heating cartridge like the Lyman
and they are in diferent watt ratings depending on size of curler.
The best is they usualy only cost about $ 1 -2 so they are cheap
to experiment with.
