The local gun dealer made me a deal on my 20 gauge reloader I don't use anymore so that money went as down money on an 8 shot Taurus today. I'm not fond of the porting but it should be a fun gun to work with.
Do they make speed loaders for those or are you stuck to loading it one at a time?

That 608 must be a fairly new offering from Taurus. I don't recall ever seeing one before.

Mark at Pinnacle Custom can cut the cylinders for you to accept moonclips.

I don't see a model that matches up to it (or the Smith 8 shot) on HKS's or Safariland's websites.

I found some on the dillon site tonight. Moon clips would be nice. I should have it out of hock in about 3 weeks or so.

Is this a .22 or .22 magnum?

It's a 357 mag.

I have a Taurus with ports stick to jacketed bullets. Lead bullets make a mess in the vents.

I have litterly put 1000's of lead rounds through my 450 2" barrel with ports and 90% have been a 200gr Lyman SWC lead with no mess, so that is not true with all revolvers.

i've got a taurus 44mag with a ported barrel. i shoot tumble lubed lee boolits, and get a bit of lead mess in the ports, but it's nothing a little hoppes #9 can't take care of. the ports make the recoil very bearable. worth the extra trouble for sure.

If you are planning to shoot cast, I would pick up a small cheap set of picks. Makes it easier to clean the ports. Mine has a 8lb double action trigger pull, but a 2lb single action pull. It's my favorite pistol to shoot. My 608 loves the lyman 358429 & h110.

I'm going to try mine with the 360-180 form NOE. Hopefully I can work up a load that will work in both the 1894 and one of my wheel guns.
