I cast some 113 gn boolits from the Lee C309113F mold. When you load them in the .308, what should the overall length be? Thanks in advance.

I just crimp above the lube groove. Unless you are using a full case of powder you will not worry about compressing it. There is no way this length bullet will ever reach the lands so i just crimp above the lube groove. I use shotgun/pistol powders for 1100-2000 fps with this bullet. My best results in 308 were with surplus WC846 in a medium range load.

Thank you MT Gianni. I started loading them like that last night and thought they didn't look right. I guess I needed to hear someone tell me that was fine. I will finish loading them today. This is my 1st attempt at loading cast in my .308.

Report back whether it's pretty or not. Mine is a BLR so it isn't a bench rest nor a military gun.

Here is a picture showing a boolit and loaded round.
Gun: Savage Mod. 10
Boolit: Lee C309 113F, Horn. Gas Check, sized to .309 with Lee push thru sizer
Lube: Felix
2.248 OAL
Powder: 10.2 Red Dot
I did not have an ''M'' die so I used a Lee 30 Carbine expander funnel in a 44 mag die body to expand the case mouth.
Any other advice would be nice.

The weather was good today so I went and shot some of these loads. Started at 50 yards, got it on paper and then moved to 100 yards. These are nice and soft on the shoulder.
