I just ordered a new 1885 in 32-40. I'm thinking of using 170 gr Laser Cast bullets. Any and all loads would be appreciated

Thanks

I just sold a gentleman in Minnesota a nice old Winchester 1885 in 32-40 that was circa 1900-1902 I think !

Anyway if I were loading and casting for that one I would use a old Ideal "Prefection" adjustable mold I just recently sold as well !

Another good choice in my biased opinion would be the Lyman 321297 this was about a 185 grain gas check bullet !

Judging from the point you stated about buying laser cast bullets, I gather you want to shoot it as a cartridge gun. Yup, Lyman makes some good molds, NEI and LBT both do ,too. If you want to try breech seating, Pat Weber makes a breechseater for that gun, Hoch and Paul Jones build some fine molds for that purpose. Have a look at the bullet mfgr's websites if you think you might want to cast boolits for it, you have a heck of a selection out there for mfgr's and styles, far better than what you can buy in stores, and better accuracy. Time & pocketbook are the limiting factors. Have fun with it.
