Hunting season is over this year except for varmints so I've decided to shoot only a 357 for the rest of 2010....................Creeker

Sounds good to me but when hunting season gets close, switch to the heavier stuff.

Yes, much easier on the wrist. When hunting season rolls round again I may try the Ruger on deer, maybe!!!!!!!!!!!

A Ruger 357 loaded to full potential will harvest venison very humamely and efficiently, if the navigator steers well.

a 357 should easily take a deer.
i have taken deer with my 30 carbine revolver, down loaded to 32-20 vels.

Thanks for sharing that article!

I sure as h--- still load the 357 Magnum. It is by some distance my favorite handgun caliber, and any time I'm in the back-country a 4" Model 686 is always within easy reach.

That link to darkcanyon is a good one. LOTS of excellent reading. Thanks from a guy who really likes .357s.

A man could do a lot worse than having a .357 as his only gun- Me

My favorite caliber too.

Nothing wrong with the.357, a fine round. The really neat thing about it, you can shoot it all day long with .38 Spl.
A lot of folks knock the Security Six, however I will have to say this. After I changed the barrel from 2" to 6", it has become my favorite wheel gun.

KNOCK the Security Six? Who did that? Let's get 'im. After a little tune up mine won me some serious type matches. Smooth DA, accurate, dependable, stout, fast reloads w/speed loader, and purdy too. The 6" is perfect.

Hhmmm . . . 357 is my favorite wheel gun cartridge also but it sounds very limiting. All those other guns in the safe . . . all those other moulds, all those other targets that really, really need being shot and all those choices with which to do it. Why limit yourself to one cartridge?

It's just a year my friend. After all, the last "one" sixgun kick I was on lasted 8 years with a 4" M29. I shot a few rifles and another sixgun or two but shot them very little. There were thousands put through the 44, hundreds even.

I have three 357's but will mostly be shooting one, a Bisley Blackhawk. The second will be a six inch M28. I cast a few bullets last weekend including some for the 357.

HI.
The 357's one of my favorites too.
Have owned 3. Only have 1 now. If I do Not shoot at least 1,000 rounds a summer there is something wrong.
But my 22 gets 500-1,000 a summer too.
Well so does the 44.
I just can"t help myself.
Guess I am An addic.
