What size do you cut the paper for say a 7.62X54R? I will try notebook paper for my patch. I have seen a piece of metal made so you can lay it on a paper sheet and the cut around it, but wasn't certain what the exacts were. See what you guys have done?!!!................

Completely square cuts or diagonal ends?

This is where my technique comes in. Do you have the dimensions of your boolit? Have a look at my thread "Perfected Pater Patch Design". I'll add my measuring method there now.

Either, I find diagonal cuts easier to use though.

Do you fold eveything under neat and tidy or do you make a tail of sorts with the excess?

I have found that if you have access to a CAD program, it is easy to draw up the patches, print them on inkjet, then cut them out with scissors to try new things. I have just played so far, not fired any :-).
