Midway has Boyds repros, (require fit and finish). See link above.

Sarco has both repro drop in finished and orig. WWII G.I. See link below.

Be prepared to do a lot of work with a Boyd's stock. If you are patient, you can have a quality replacement stock though. I have heard the range of from excellent to poor on the semi-inletting by Boyd's,

They say Dupage makes a superior stock.

Thanks fellas but Boyds has just about ruined me from ever being their customer again . I should be a bit more clear , a military stock for a Smith Corona in very good condition ......... I'm thinking a hundred bucks or so but it's not a field I keep up with .

Jack, I doubt you'll find much for $100, although I'm not really current on prices either. I'd suspect that anything worth having will run somewhat over $200 for an original.

That one certainly looks nice , even has the recoil bolts instead of just the pins . I used to visit that forum a lot untill it got as slow as molasases to load a page . Thanks for the link .

Smith Corona and Remington A3 stocks are interchangeable but if you are trying to restore an SC to "as issued" condition then you'll be looking for an SC factory stock with the appropriate inspection stamps ("FJA" and "Ordnance Escutcheon"), sub inspector's marks (forward of the magazine), a 1/2" Diameter circled "P" proof mark on the grip and a rear band spring cut with a rounded nose.

Depending on the condition you need to match your metal $200. may just be the floor.

On the other hand if you are just looking for a "correct" stock you may able to locate a GI replacement with or with out rebuild marks for less.

Good luck!

Regards,

Jim

Jack, I just got one from Numrich for my Rem. It has the stock bolts not pins.
The one I have has been sanded, but all the correct markings are still there.
$75.00 IIRC It is stripped except for the bolts. I think they have these for both.
I had to get it out of the closet to make sure.

Jack, just to let you know I dropped my 03a3 into the stock today (inside project). Fit with no problems. All the hardware bolted right up, no tight spots in barrel channel. Looks like a few coats of linspeed will match it up with the handguard just fine.

That's good to hear Mike . Now here's hoping all the shots stay in the black .
