Felix, Al, and a few other of you quarter bore guys what got the group buy moulds. Not seen much about the custom quarter moulds, PB and GC, what we all went in on. When Felix was here Sunday we casted some of the PB as I had'nt got roundtoit and they looked pretty good. Felix questioned they'd carry enough lube. I shot a few this evening over 5.0 Unique and 6.0 Herco. Shot okay. Didn't chrono or put on paper, just shot the berm to see what the bore would look like. About half way got a dark spot, not leading, and only a little trash. Not bad. Most rounds impacted near the aimed at dirt clods on the bern. I'm still breaking in the liner Lee Shaver put into my Grandpa's ole 92 Winchester, so nothin' special doing group sizes or chrono tests. This guy's been settin; in the safe for awhile whilst I've been diversioned on other thangs. Methinks I'll make a run of the GC version and try them. Anyone else been using these moulds? sundog

I didn't partake of the group buy 25 caliber mold purchase. I just today shot up the last of the loaded rounds that had .258"-sized boolits in place, #257420's atop 9.0 x SR-4759. One of the ten-shot groups was respectable (1.25" @ 50 yards), but the other 4 groups were around 2". I think the .260" sizer might improve things, as will the use of IMR-4198 and RL-7 as fuels. The little Marlin just drives tacks with 4198 and the Speer 75 FP's, I'm hoping it does likewise with fatter boolits--both 257420 and 257312.

I got 1 each PB ans GC and just plain haven't had time to mess with them. Come to think on it, I still haev'nt messed with the 30 Plinker, the Fat 30 or either of the 6.5's I bought. Well, maybe I did do 1 6.5. Time, time, time.

I'm hoping to get the 25-20's assembled in time to take them rat hunting and to NCBS. I still have the cheapie 4X scope on the Marlin 94CL, which is kind of a cheat until I find a load that works consistently. Once that takes place, the scope and mount gets attached to the 94CCL x 32-20 and the load development process starts anew. The 94CL will get Lyman 66A aperture sights.
