ahhh...

you've spiked my interest, in cast boolits. for my horribily beat up, kicked to death , dragged in the mud, and ran over with the tractor, remington model 700 ADL, bolt action.

its open sights only, and for ''me'' she's dead nuts [on] at close to 100.

i've had this rifle since i was 16 years old.

just used it today, blowing holes in the ice. but thinkin ? cast would be lots cheaper to shoot.

so. just saying.

Start here http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38 And ask away. I have never done paper patching as of yet. But I am positive many can help you out.

I used to have one of them. It was probably the best rifle I ever owned. I wish that I never sold it.

I had a Ruger M77 Mk2 and it did very good with any kind of cast I put through it.

That is exactly what I want to find for my next project gun. Good shooter, but awful to look at. I know there are a thousand out there in the midwest, especially farmer/ranch guns in the field trucks . Just never see them for sale.

As long as the economy was good here there was a scarcity if used guns, even in the pawn shops. People were buying new and keeping their old ones. I expect to see more used guns becoming available, even tough our local economy is doing better than most parts of the country. My business always slows from Christmas through January, but this year it started early and is much less than in the past 17 yrs. I have been in business here. There will be more guns for sale, I just don't know if we'll have money to buy them.

I have a couple sporter 03's. They are close to my favorite cast shooters. From a round ball over a couple grains of Bulls Eye to the 311284 and a case full of H450 they are great shooters. 06 is one of my favorite rounds.
