I traded for an old beater remington in 308 and about 100 pieces of brass. As I don't have a set of 308 dies (yet) do you think it would be possible to necksize & seat 308 with 7.62x54r dies. I know I can't wait to play with the new toys.. Thanks, Josh

The std bore diam for .308 Win is .308. The std for 7.62x54R is more like .311 or more.
You may find that neck tension on the bullet is nil or low. May work, may not. Try it by
sizing and seating a bullet in to an empty case. Then hold onto the case and push the
bullet against a hard surface as hard as you can. If the bullet stays, good to go. If
it pushes in, you are in danger during feeding and chambering of pushing in the bullet
and raising pressures. A few cases loaded into the chamber carefully on a temp basis
may be OK with low neck tension, but surely not safe in the long run.

Like Bill said you may have little neck tension, however if you have enough tension to keep the boolit reliably put, then you can load them singly if your just poking holes through paper...Ray
