Sorry it's 358665
Why is this called a cowboy mold? do the bullets shoot well in standard 38/357 revolvers?

I believe it's the 358665. It's marketed towards the Cowboy action shooter. It has a large lube groove that will carry plenty of lube for Black powder. I shoot it's big brother the 452664 and it does well for me.

It was created for the Cowboy Matches. The bullet profile somewhat resembles those of "yesteryear".
I have not shot the 358665 but HAVE shot the 452664 (a similar bullet for the .45 Colt) and it is a VERY good choice for both black powder AND smokeless. It has a single large, square bottom grease groove that holds enough black powder lubricant to do an excellent job. That same grease groove, works well with smokeless, also.
I would suspect that the .38/.357 version would work just as well.
The profile matches the Cowboy period and does not look out of place on a gunbelt of the period.

I use it's first cousin, the Lee 158-RF in a 38 and 357. I like the bullet for a plain base.

I got one for my 94 marlin for cas but I shoot that boolit in my S&W and they shoot good. If I did'nt have another rnfp on the way I would have the bevel base removed. It's a good all around boolit IMO. FB
