I have mounted a red dot scope on my 870 to deer hunt. Now my original stock is too low to obtain a proper sight picture as this scope sits well above the vent rib. I need at least 1½ - 2" of height to see through the scope correctly. With as many of these of these set-ups out there, I know somebody has to know a way to fix this.

If you bed it with machine screws, you can remove it.

You could try a lace on cheekpiece or I believe someone makes a synthetic monte carlo buttstock.

There are stick on pads available from Brownells and Midway. You can also make one out of a foam sleeping mat and tape it in place. It depends on how pretty you want it, and how much you want to spend.

I put one of these on my Contender Carbine with a 44mm Scope on it. The leather gives me just the right height. RD
