I just wanted to thank everyone for all the help these last few days. I got my sticking mold squared away, and I melted up some lead roof flashing. I mixed it with my wheel weight ingots, and casted about 500 boolits!!! They look awesome, though some are a little frosty. I don't mind frosty, but the hotter lead and mold sure make those boolits fill out nicely! I measured some up, and they measured at .452-.453. Perfect for me! These are for my .45 ACP S&W 1911. Tomorrow my new Saeco lubrisizer should arrive, and I can start on a whole nother batch of problems, LOL! Thanks again guys! I'll be around here for a long time I think. ;)

Size 'em properly to fit the gun and use a good lube and there won't be any problems on that end, glad to hear you got the hiccups worked out of the casting part. [smilie=2:

We need Pics Cricco!

Frosty is OK as long as they are filled out. Sounds like the mold is a bit hot. I would give a plug to Lar45's LsStuff at the bottomof the page as a good source of a great lube to put in the lubrisizer. I like the BAC, my buddy likes the Carnauba red

" I can start on a whole nother batch of problems,"

New problems=New opportunity to learn.

Glad you got sorted out.

Shouldn't have any problems with the Saeco, it is a great machine.

I just stumbled upon this old thread. Wow! 15 Years ago I started this adventure, and here I am.....still seeking advice, but more interested in old school, like shooting my Trapdoor with home made BP! Thank you all, for such a great resource!
