I have a mould for Lyman 358345, hollow point, presumably intended for .380 or 9mm. Its a SWC weighing about 125 grains.

I donno, but NEI catalogues a 358-77-BB, full wadcutter bevel based bullet and a .358-100, same bullet with a truncated cone nose on it. These are #'s 129 and 129A. You might look at Mountian Molds and see what you can do on Dan's website. You might try loading some lead .36" round balls too, just to see what they do.

.................Hensly & Gibbs made a 66gr WC. Looked like an Oreo cookie. It's the one Dean Grennel used to stack up in 38's. Two in a 38 Special, 3 in a 357 Mag (bottom one sized .355") and 4 in a 357 Max.

As for a SWC it would seem that after a certain point the body would be so short as to cause problems in getting them seated straight in the casemouth.

Lee make a 105Gn SWC which is abot as light as I'd find useful. here's a link;

I have a Saeco #456 that casts two 70 grain wadcutters and two 105 grain wadcutters. I have experimented a bit with multiple boolits with it in .38 and .357. Don't recall the results but they should be in my notes somewhere.

I just acquired a Lyman #358101 at NCBS, a 2-banger casting a 75 grain wadcutter. Like you, I want to try some ultra-light loads using one of the boolits, and some 2-boolit loads just to see how close together they'll hit at rat-zapping distances. That might sound a bit un-sporting, but rats got NUTHIN' COMIN' anyway.

And NO, I won't try to paper-patch one of these for the 9.3mm rifle. Now, 3 or 4 in a row........ah, never mind.

Deputy Al,

What does your quote "Si vis pacem, para bellum gerere--et Fortuna favorat fortis" mean in English. My best guess is: If forcing (or influencing?) peace through war, fortune favors the powerful (or strong or brave?). How close am I?

These snake loads are probably what you want, they use a ball and shot and seem to work pretty good.

If you are going to use a boolit, a round ball wont be an issue. Don't need a mould either.
