I have not but you might look at this one before you buy. This is the one I was thinking about getting.

I've been using a Tel-Tru that I got off eBay for a few years now and have been completely satisfied. I just low balled a bunch of them until one came home. Mine has a 4 inch dial and a 12 inch stem. Keeps it out of the way when casting, adding back sprues and what not. I rigged up a simple holder from stiff wire to hold it just off the bottom of the pot. A crappy cell pic, but you'll get the idea:

I have the Rotometals thermometer. It works. I think it reads about 15 degrees cold compared to my electroniic probe.

Update, I ordered the Tel tru today and they said they had 15 in stock at this time. FYI

Any of these would be better than my RCBS that I overpaid for ($50+) [smilie=b:

Reading cold or not isn't a huge issue at $20 -

I ordered one of these $26 shipped IIRC. Recieved it today and seems solid enough. Reading through the little paper that comes with it, I noticed something about "over temp limits"

I have no idea what that means, probably not important, but it states it is 100% up to 250 dg, 50% at 250-550 dg and then goes in to something about continuous use below 800 dg?

I dont suppose somene could explain any of that can they?

I fired up my brand new Lee 4-20 and did some temp testing with mine today. @ the lowest setting (2) it read about 600 and seemed to increase about 75 dg for each number on the knob. How does that compare to others Lee pots?

The stem is too short to be practical. The dial would block the pot.

They have ones with longer stems and smaller or larger dials. I was just wondering if the quality was any good. If anyone else had tried one and could give input.

Thanks
Glenn

Howe is a Chinese manufacturer. That doesn't mean much, of course. Most of the thermometers you're going to find are made in China. Their web site is crude and doesn't list any industrial supply houses where you can buy their products. That would concern me some.
