I have this project posted in special projects, but I've never removed one of these old firing pins before. Is there a special tool made for this or do I just grind the center out of a screwdriver?

I would grind a large screwdriver and soak the nipple with pentitrating oil first.

Larry's got the right idea. Thats what I did to the last one, and surprisingly, it turned right out with no heat. Good luck.

Someplace in my shop I have a half dozen screw drivers with the center cut out. Seems like every time I need one I can't find it so must make a new one. Most of the time the firing pin retainer comes out easy.

Thanks Guys!
I made one earlier and sure enough, no problems. I had to put a spring in the right pin so I took it out too.
