What cast bullets mold is a good one to get,
how about a load that will shoot end to end
through a water Buffalo

I like the RCBS 405 grn. I shoot 48 grns. of 3031 and CCI 200 primers. It runs 1625 out of my short 1895 Guide Gun and is real accurate. Haven't had a chance to try it on Water Buff yet but it worked wonders on a 600# crazy heifer I had last summer!

............... WoolyBooger mentioned my favorite 45 cal rifle boolit. Due to OAL restrictions in the M95 you can't get too much more metal in there, and whatcha gonna hunt needs more then 405grs of lead at 1800 fps?

Ya oughta go over to Group Buys and get in on the 350/360 gr 6 cavity group buy that's currently running. It's a good general purpose slug and I doubt it'd bounce off a target at the range. Besides, as much as I like the RCBS 405gr boolit, it DOES require a GC, which you do not always need.

What part of the world you writing from. With the talk about the water buff I will assume you are "down under". No big deal other than some of the suppliers don't ship to some parts of the world. I've got a group buy running on a TLC460-425-RF that is made to order for the 1895s. I wouldn't mind checking on the shipping if you are interested.

You sure you want to shoot something from stem to stern? Your shot angle might suggest that this critter is coming after you...:( Cast with the correct allow and using Hodgdon's data for the 1895 Marlin's, any of these boolits will work. Just be sure it is a .460" for the Marlins.

I'm from the NY, not shooting buff but trying to come close to the
Garrett, Buffalo Bore, and Grizzly loads.
There is just something about rifles that kick.:)

I run the Lee 405 fp in front of 12.5 of trail boss, its real fun to shoot. The other load os 14 gns TB behind the 300 saco fp.
Enjoy the rifle. I put a Smith full buckhorn long range sight on mine and pop some steel when were done with the bp rifles :)
