recently i obtained some reloads from the estate of a deceased friend loaded as follows:
.45acp
lyman orange magic lube
200gr swc r-p brass
4.6 grains bullseye
cci primer
SIZED TO .454
The .454 part is where the question comes in. Mostly I have sized to .452 with a lead bullet. Anybody have any thoughts on using them with the .454 sizing.
I might add they cycled properly into a springfield 1911A1 current production.
Thanks.
I might add while the lead mixture is unkown most likely was done with wheelweights.

I think it will work. I make .4555 boolits for a 454 cassul that has a barrel bore of .453. I get no leading or deformed primers. 0.002 oversize (or 0.001 per side) should not hurt anything if it is lead: It will deform.

Long as they chamber all right, they'll shoot just fine./beagle

not seeing a problem here.
bullseye was loaded under j words at 5.0 grs forever as the mili round.
the over sized boolits should generate under 1k extra pressure, and it's under the max by a half grain, should be pretty snappy though.

No sweat, I've loaded tens of thousands with 4.7 BE. Diam is not an issue unless
it bulges the case enough to prevent chambering.

I load my .45 Sig at 5 to 5.3 gr of Bullseye. Snappy load but the gun likes it and does not lead the barrel.

A little hot for me, but within specs.

I normally sized my 200gr. 45acp swc reloads at .452" . I got the idea to try .453" thinking that a little oversized was good a little bit more would be better. The .453" boolit load had no problem chambering and shooting, but when I cleaned the gun I found lots of barrel leading. The next batch I went back to the .452" size and had minimal leading if any. All other things were equal but the larger size boolit leaded, I don't know why, but I will be sizing that load to .452" from now on.

+1 for the above - if they chamber, shoot 'em.
