HI,

I've been working on loads for Norinco & Yugo SKSs with the Lee C312-155-2R. I've been able to use C.E. Harris' work - 14.5 grains of 2400 work great with the Norinco but not with the Yugo. So, I'm using RL7 with the Yugo and it cycles with the 18.0 grain starting load - so now I've got to narrow down the best load.

I just ordered an NEO 129 grain mold in the Group Buy. Any suggestions on where to start with a load for this bullet? Can I safely work up from the loads for the 155 grain?

Thanks

Daryl,
Yes, you can safely use the data for the Lee...155gr mould. I have shot 115-118gr bullets in a SKS...some lead fouling from the large gas port, but useable. Just up the RL7 powder charge a little (.5gr) at a time until the action just cycles and puts the brass nearby.

It's normal for the Yugo to need more kick than any of the other SKS variants. The Yugo military ammo was loaded hotter than the other types.
